The Importance of Maintaining Yourpublisher Approval Queue
by Leslie Pazan
To ensure the success of your affiliate marketing program, it is important to review publisher applications in a timely manner. This will help to get the right publishers approved in your program, and will give you greater success in activating these partners. There are many risks of letting publishers sit in the approval queue for too long. They might think that your program is not actively monitored, which can result in them losing interest, or starting to promote your competitors. Ideally, you should be responding to publishers waiting for approval within 24-48 hours. Don't forget, this will allow you and your publishers to get a head start on generating sales!
When reviewing publishers in the approval queue, it is important to do the following:
- Visit their website: Click on each publisher's name to view their website in a new browser window. This information is provided by the publisher in their initial application form to LinkShare.
- Review their profile: Under each publisher's name, click "More Information" to see the company profile and contact information. If the publisher registered via your own registration page, this area will also show answers to your customised questions.
- Contact publishers to gather additional information: Click the link marked "Email this Publisher" (on the right-hand side of the screen) to email the publisher using LinkShare's internal email system.
Tips for Maintaining yourpublisher Approval Queue:
- Customise your auto-reply emails before approving and declining new publishers. In your Temporary Rejection email, list your approval criteria so that publishers can make appropriate modifications and then re-apply to your program. Remember: If you "Temp" decline the publisher, they must wait 14 days before they are able to reapply, even if you have decided you want them in your program.
- Put your publishers into groups as you approve them. This will make it easy to track the performance of different types of publishers.
