| New Feature: Additional Link Parameters
On 12th May LinkShare released a new Links feature called ‘Additional Link Parameters’. You can use this feature to pass additional LinkShare link information to a 3rd party Analytics application such as Omniture or CoreMetrics.

Much of this information is already available to you in the Sales & Activity report, the Link Type report, and the Program Level report. But with Additional Link Parameters, you can now easily combine the data you receive from LinkShare with your own data on the visitors to your site. This gives you greater flexibility in analyzing the traffic that comes to your site and allows you to make better decisions on what products to promote and which publishers to offer incentives.
After you establish the additional parameters you would like to track, every time a visitor clicks on one of your links, the data you have chosen is passed on to you in the tracking link. You may need to configure the new parameters as data to be collected and reported in your system or a third-party analytics tool. You can use any third-party analytics tool with the ability to track URL parameters.
LinkShare-populated parameters that can be automatically passed to you include the Publisher ID, Creative ID, Offer ID, and Creative Type. Please keep in mind that you will need to translate the data passed into meaningful values by mapping them to the Publisher, Creative, Creative Type, or Offer.
You could also use Additional Link Parameters to work together with sub-networks to gain more visibility into the specific site in the sub-network that is driving traffic to your site.
